Steam Vaults Night Run Three
For the night’s third run, Aldramech the 69 Warlock dropped, and we picked up another member of Fury…Melcore the 70 Hunter. We ran with two Hunters instead of two Warlocks.
We almost cleared to the the first boss without a hitch. While hopping over the large rocky projection, one of the pets (I believe it was Melcore’s pet) got aggro from the elementals, which in turn got aggro from the group of nagas that we usually skip. Everyone except for Sorc died. This slowed our progress down a bit. During the boss fight, Melcore died, but we able to handle the boss without problem. Hydromancer Thespia dropped the Scintillating Coral Band (Illustra won the shard).
The second boss was cleared to and eliminated without any difficulty. I do like the use of two Hunter pets to help deal with the adds, but the high dps of the group made the encounter pretty trivial. Mekgineer Steamrigger dropped the Steam-Hinge Chain of Valor (Melcore won the shard).
The final boss was cleared to and eliminated without any trouble either…no tanks were missed. Warlord Kalithresh dropped the Ring of the Silver Hand (Zadrun won the shard) and the Breastplate of Righteousness (Illustra won the shard). From start to finish, the duration of the run was about 41 minutes.
The damage output was the following:
- Sorc was at 28% (660 dps)
- Illustra was at 26% (545 dps)
- Predictys was at 17% (279 dps)
- Melcore was at 15% (576 dps)
I think some of this shows that Melcore was having some issues with his traps. I’m not sure if running with two Hunters caused some confusion with trap targets, or if traps were being resisted, or broken early, or what. Eevn with some crowd control responsibilities, as a ranged dps class, Melcore definitely should have had more damage output than the tank.
