Steam Vaults Night Run Three

For the night’s third run, Aldramech the 69 Warlock dropped, and we picked up another member of Fury…Melcore the 70 Hunter. We ran with two Hunters instead of two Warlocks.

We almost cleared to the the first boss without a hitch. While hopping over the large rocky projection, one of the pets (I believe it was Melcore’s pet) got aggro from the elementals, which in turn got aggro from the group of nagas that we usually skip. Everyone except for Sorc died. This slowed our progress down a bit. During the boss fight, Melcore died, but we able to handle the boss without problem. Hydromancer Thespia dropped the Scintillating Coral Band (Illustra won the shard).

The second boss was cleared to and eliminated without any difficulty. I do like the use of two Hunter pets to help deal with the adds, but the high dps of the group made the encounter pretty trivial. Mekgineer Steamrigger dropped the Steam-Hinge Chain of Valor (Melcore won the shard).

The final boss was cleared to and eliminated without any trouble either…no tanks were missed. Warlord Kalithresh dropped the Ring of the Silver Hand (Zadrun won the shard) and the Breastplate of Righteousness (Illustra won the shard). From start to finish, the duration of the run was about 41 minutes.

The damage output was the following:

I think some of this shows that Melcore was having some issues with his traps. I’m not sure if running with two Hunters caused some confusion with trap targets, or if traps were being resisted, or broken early, or what. Eevn with some crowd control responsibilities, as a ranged dps class, Melcore definitely should have had more damage output than the tank.

Steam Vaults Night Run Two

The composition of this group was nearly identical to the first. We changed out Hunters…Phella was out and Sorc of Fury was in. I’ve run with Sorc before; he’s an excellent Hunter. The entire duration of the run from first pull to downing Kalithresh was about 39 minutes.

Hydromancer Thespia dropped the Incanter’s Gloves (Aldramech won the shard).

Unfortunately Illustra died on the route to the second boss. I used a Seed of Corruption a bit too early and successfully got most of the available aggro too soon. This death was the only one during the entire run. Mekgineer Steamrigger dropped the Earth Mantle Handwraps (Illustra won the shard).

Warlord Kalithresh dropped the Tidefury Gauntlets (Illustra won the shard) and the Vermillion Robes of the Dominant (needed by Aldramech).

The damage output was the following:

Steam Vaults Night Run One

Just finished running the first of what will hopefully be a few Steam Vaults runs (normal mode) tonight. The group is composed of myself (70 Warlock), the tank Predictys (70 Druid), the healer Zadrun (70 Paladin), Phella (70 Hunter), and Aldramech from Fury (69 Warlock).

The goal is to get Cenarion Expedition reps for the group’s benefit. Illustra is getting to within a few thousand reps of exalted. Other bonuses would be no deaths and speed.

We downed the first boss with no problems. Hydromancer Thespia dropped the Moonrage Girdle. I disenchanted it and Predictys won the shard. There were two inexplicable deaths while we moving towards the second boss. Phella died in the swim route (cause unknown), and Aldramech’s imp somehow was responsible for drawing elementals aggro.

The second boss was killed with no problems. Mekgineer Steamrigger dropped the Serpentcrest Life-Staff. I disenchanted it and Predictys won the shard.

The third boss was killed without any problems. I was dismayed to see we missed destroying the first aquarium, and Kalithresh ending up enraging. With our veterans and dps, this would prove to not be a problem. Warlord Kalithresh dropped the Beast Lord Leggings (disenchanted by me, shard won by me) and the Moonglade Shoulders (needed by Predictys).

All in all, it was a pretty successful run…somewhere between 45 and 55 minutes.

The damage output was the following:
